We don’t just bring our values into work each day. We take them out into our local community too. Collaborating with local charities. Promoting entrepreneurship locally. Making good things happen for local job seekers. Helping local football teams have fun. And we’re pretty ambitious to achieve even more. In fact, our inspiration for innovations like Ucando-it comes from wanting to make a positive difference to more people and more communities across the UK and beyond.Want to measure your CSR impact?
We’re adding to our support for Back to Work and Knowledge Transfer Partnership schemes by investing in an Apprenticeship programme to help support our local community and grow our own talent.
Every year we support local charities through donations – £30,000 and counting – as well as through our technical skills, by doing things like building a website for Mencap so it could reach out to local people, and volunteering locally for causes we care about.
We’re ISO 14001 certified, which means we’re on top of our environmental impact and of all the things we need to do to reduce the energy we use and manage the waste we generate in a systematic and sustainable way. Take a look at our Environmental Policy. We’re also driven to reduce our carbon impact on our community – here’s our Carbon Reduction Plan & Report.
We encourage everyone to make positive use of the four paid volunteering days we offer and team members get involved alongside founder Debra Charles with Dragons’ Den-style initiatives stimulating interest in business.
Through Ucando-it, we’re proving how powerful smartcard-based programmes can be as a tool not only to promote community action and citizen wellbeing but also to measure the impact of CSR initiatives.
