Team nurturing apprentice and secondment roles to grow individual skill sets and drive business growth

Novacroft is partnering with Intec Business Colleges to run in house apprenticeship programmes aimed at upskilling and developing the talents of its people, alongside increasing focus on internal secondments and work experience opportunities.

These opportunities will support Novacroft’s growing operations, as it celebrates its twentieth anniversary this year, and looks to the future.

Two team members from Novacroft’s contact centre are embarking on Level 3 Team Leader/Supervisor apprenticeship courses, with more people to follow. The apprenticeships cover 18 modules and will take between 12 and 18 months to complete, involving regular assessments and the development of a portfolio of evidence. Intec will also visit Novacroft to deliver some off the job learning, which accounts for about 20% of the qualification.

Novacroft is also appointing 6 secondment roles ahead of its peak business period in 2018, with roles available for Team Managers, Floor Walkers, a Trainer and a Scheme Coach, and will welcome 150 temporary team members to ensure a brilliant service is delivered for clients.

In addition, Novacroft has been working closely with Sir Christopher Hatton academy in Wellingborough, having recently offered a two week work placement for one of their students looking to go into the technology sector.

Tracey McEwan, HR Business Partner at Novacroft, has driven the new focus on apprenticeships and skills development and also leads recruitment for Novacroft’s peak period. Tracey said:

Through these roles, ambitious and talented team members have a brilliant opportunity to showcase their skills and gain valuable new ones. We have many talented people in our team and, as we move beyond our twentieth year and look to the future of Novacroft, this is their time to shine.

Tom Brijmohun, one of the Contact Centre Team Leaders taking on a Level 3 Team Leader/ Supervisor apprenticeship, commented:

This opportunity really makes me feel valued. It’s given me drive to progress. It’ll stand me in great stead for my future.

Matt Allenby, seconded from his role as Contact Centre Advisor to a position as Trainer, said:

I’ve been thoroughly enjoying my role so far – I’ve already learnt a lot of new skills and I am hoping to develop these further.

As it approaches its 20th birthday, Novacroft continues to embrace the foundations on which it was set up in 1998. At the heart of CEO & Founder Debra Charles’s business ethos is the belief that everybody has innate talent, and a desire to provide opportunities to unleash that.

Being based at the heart of the Cambridge – Milton Keynes – Northampton – Oxford growth corridor, Novacroft is finding that there’s enormous talent in the local area, making it the perfect place to build a team.

Novacroft is committed to providing real chances to grow for all team members and looks forward to offering many more opportunities as the company journeys beyond its twentieth anniversary year.
