Our Charity of Year 2018 is already using funds to help animals in need
The RSPCA Northamptonshire Branch has received £3002 in fundraising from Novacroft, after being the focus of fundraising and volunteering activities in 2018.
The money is already being put to use and has so far funded knee surgery, costing approximately £1000, for a dog called Bella, which has helped her get the use of her leg back.
The RSPCA’s Stefanie Roe, Fundraising and Events Co-ordinator for Northamptonshire, recently met with Novacroft’s Tina Munns, Karen Waldock and Diane Wesley (pictured above, left to right, with the presentation cheque) and confirmed:
all money raised is going directly to animals in need from within the county.
Continued support of the Brixworth based branch of the well known animal protection charity is essential to enable the small team to continue rescuing, helping and re-homing animals locally. In 2018, the team was able to help 613 animals.
From its HQ on The Lakes, Northampton, Novacroft raised the £3000+ through activities including a charity climbing day plus a lunchtime Couch to 5K programme that inspired many team members to don their running shoes and get active.
Team members from Novacroft also took time to volunteer, using some of their paid volunteering time allowance to support the ‘Santa Paws’ campaign at a local Pets at Home store, raising approx. £100 for the retailer’s ‘Santa Paws’ charity, of which RSPCA Northamptonshire is a beneficiary.
Reflecting on the year’s charitable focus, Debra Charles, Novacroft CEO & Founder, said:
Charities do such fantastic work. I have incredible admiration for them. The charity sector is facing a huge period of change, though the determination of those in the sector to continue making a difference shines through. It’s a privilege to support and work with people championing causes they care so much about.
Novacroft has supported many local causes in its twenty years in business, raising over £30,000. Novacroft continues to work with charities to support their futures.
In March 2019, Novacroft will be holding a charity forum in London, focusing on charities and the fourth industrial revolution. Find out more here.
