Novacroft was privileged to support the recent annual Northamptonshire Community Foundation (NCF) Awards 2018 as sponsor of The Edge category.
At the awards ceremony in late October, Novacroft’s CEO & Founder, Debra Charles, presented the category winner, Re:store Northampton, with their award – photographed above. Debra is an active member of the Northamptonshire community, championing causes that make life easier for people and make a real, measurable impact.
Re:store Northampton is a town centre-based group which provides support, a food bank and other crisis services for vulnerable people and families on the bread line. In 2018, 89 families have benefited form support services, with a network of 50 volunteers helping with a range of activities.
NCF funded ‘Nest’ in 2018, a new project from Re:store Northampton, for vulnerable families with children 0-5 years old. Nest provides community drop-ins for pre-school families, with a focus on positive play, specialist health provision (pregnancy, postnatal and through to pre-school), advocacy and advice and access to free healthy meals and other basic necessities for families with young children. It acts as a one-stop shop for vulnerable families.
This short film, kindly shared by NCF, shows Re:store Northampton in action:
All finalists in The Edge category were hugely valuable community groups and projects which support vulnerable people in desperate need of support. They included Brookside Hall, Live at Home Northampton and Citizen’s Advice, Corby and Kettering.
Victoria Miles, Chief Executive at NCF, explained:
All The Edge finalists have demonstrated excellent work, made an outstanding impact, tackled challenges, drawn on the support of volunteers and were funded by the Foundation last year. Congratulations to all.
