Novacroft CEO and Founder responds to call for advice from entrepreneur

Recently, business founder Muizz Almaroof asked The IoD’s Director for advice on finding collaborators for his venture. Novacroft’s Debra Charles, a member of IoD South, was delighted to share her insights on building trust and starting conversations.

With experience gained over more than twenty successful years in business, Debra is keen to help future generations of entrepreneurs excel.

What did Muizz Almaroof ask?

As co-founder of Motivez, a business that’s helping young people to embark on careers that best match their abilities, Muizz wants to know how to persuade more partners to be involved in his business, to extend its success. Motivez offers resources designed to help young people make better career choices through an app and website, and having more schools and colleges involved would help it reach more of the people its aiming to help.

What was Debra’s advice?

It all starts with the clarity of your message. Perhaps focus on what the future will look like for young people and the opportunities and perils created by the digital revolution. Your offering needs to make busy teachers’ lives easier, so you must show them where it fits into the curriculum as well as how it benefits them and their pupils. You could try a pilot with local schools or colleges and use this as a case study to build trust.
